Exam guarantee

Exams, projects, internships, and writing assignments can make your study life hectic. If, for example, your child falls ill during exam time, you might need extra childcare. Don't worry, we are here to help! Cultural workshop

The Cultural Workshop is an extracurricular activity offered to children of students in Trondheim who are of preschool age. The workshop is open three days a week and provides children with the opportunity to engage in a variety of activities. Here, children can participate in arts and crafts, singing, music, play, dress-up, as well as outings and trips. This offer is designed to provide student children with a creative and enjoyable leisure time, while also giving parents a flexible solution in their busy schedules.

MiniUKA

Every other year, we invite you to MiniUKA! This incredibly rich and traditional cultural festival, which took place for the 8th time in 2023, is held at Moholt student village in Trondheim. The festival is so popular that we have welcomed up to 3,000 visitors. The event is free and primarily aimed at preschool-aged children and student parents, but it is open to everyone.

Family Housing Guarantee

Are you a student with children? You are guaranteed both housing and a kindergarten place in Trondheim. The housing guarantee covers at least a 2-bedroom apartment, and you must contact Sit Housing at bolig@sit.no by May 15th to request your apartment.

Open kindergarten

Twice a week, you can bring your child to Sit Open Kindergarten in Trondheim. This service is free and provides you and your child with an opportunity to join a social community. In Gjøvik, we lend out the kindergarten for children's birthday parties. Additionally, we offer exam care for 5–6 hours on some Saturdays before exams, both in the run-up to Christmas and in the summer.

Children under 1 years old

Sit Barn offers kindergarten places for children under 1 year old. We therefore place a special emphasis on ensuring high quality in our kindergarten provision for the very youngest children. Extensive experience, recent research, and theory underpin our approach to meeting the individual needs of these children and creating a positive environment for attachment and learning. At the start of the autumn term, we hold a dedicated parent meeting for the parents of children under 1 year old. During this meeting, we provide information on how we ensure quality in the daily experience for the youngest children. As a parent, you will have the opportunity to ask questions and engage in dialogue with other parents in the same situation.
