Apply for kindergarten

The student kindergarten service is available to all students with children who pay the semester fee.

Apply for a kindergarten place using the municipal application form (link above).

Specify Sit Children’s Services as an option, and you will be considered for admission to our kindergartens. Students are given priority for admission to Sit kindergartens.

In Ålesund, please specify Trollhaugen Kindergarten. Here, students are not given priority for admission but can apply on an equal footing with others.

If you want a kindergarten place starting in August, apply during the main admission period on March 1. After this, we have ongoing admissions if our kindergartens have available places.

Payment and Prices

From January 1, 2024, the maximum price for a kindergarten place is NOK 3000. In addition to the fee, there is a cost of NOK 350 for meals.

From August 1, 2024, the maximum price will be reduced to NOK 2000.

Sibling Discount

We offer an additional sibling discount. If you have two children in kindergarten, you receive a 50% reduction in the fee for the second child. From the third child onwards, the fee is waived!

Financial Discount

You can apply for a financial discount. Applications should be sent to the municipality where the kindergarten is located. Any granted discount will apply from the month the municipality receives the application with complete documentation.
